Migrations is a new dance festival coming to Austin, Texas in January 2017, presented by the Austin Tribal Collective.
Migrations will host instructors offering workshops in a wide range of dance and musical styles from around the world. Austin Tribal Collective is an organization founded by local Austin and San Antonio area dancers, most of whom have been active in the belly dance community in Texas and elsewhere in the United States for many years. Their vision is to bring a dance festival to Austin, featuring a diverse offering of instruction in dance and musical styles. This first-time fesitval will bring three days of workshops to Austin, featuring dances from around the world, including North African, Bellydance, Odissi, Hula, Poi, Hip Hop, Flamenco, and more. There will be two nights of shows, with live music from Solecism on Saturday.
