Every year Austin residents can mark the passing of the seasons like clockwork thanks to the ever-faithful ACL Music Festival. This year, the end of summer means that the lineup has finally been announced — find it at https://www.aclfestival.com/lineup/. Headliners for both weekends include Paul McCartney, Metallica, Childish Gambino, Arctic Monkeys, and Travis Scott.
However, some more interesting performers along with top Texas musicians can be found a little bit down on the list — like The National, Father John Misty, Manchester Orchestra, Alvvays, Noname, Golden Dawn Arkestra, St. Vincent, Brandi Carlile, Chvrches, Parquet Courts, Janelle Monae, Vince Staples, Shakey Graves, and Sailor Poon, among many others. As a long-time ACL Festival attendee (I know, I know), this is a lineup I’m really looking forward to.
As usual, we can be guaranteed slightly cooler weather by the time ACL Music Festival 2018 rolls around on Oct 5-7th and Oct 12-14th. Weekend One passes are sold out, but individual day tickets and Weekend Two are still available at https://www.aclfestival.com/tickets/.
